This article analyzes the use of floral phraseology in antiquity, assessing the cultural and semantic significance of botanical expressions. The main goal of the study is to find out whether plant phrases were primarily decorative in nature or whether they served important cultural functions. The study questions the conventional wisdom about the deep symbolic meaning of these expressions, suggesting that their role may have been more toward aesthetics than conveying specific meaning.
