Leveraging ict and mobile connectivity for economic growth: an empirical study on the role of internet usage and corruption control

Abstract
In today's interconnected world, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), including the internet, cloudcomputing, artificial intelligence, mobile phones, and social media, are integral to almost every sector. These technologiessignificantly impact economic development by enhancing productivity, improving transparency, and fostering innovation.This study focuses on analysing data from eight diverse countries—Brazil, Canada, China, France, South Korea, Turkey,the USA, and Uzbekistan—over a 13-year period (2008–2020). The research explores the relationships between ICTservice exports, mobile cellular subscriptions, adjusted net national income per capita, internet usage by individuals, andthe Control of Corruption: Percentile Rank. The data, sourced from the World Bank Open Data, was refined using STATA17 software to ensure precision and suitability for analysis. Employing robust analytical methods such as panel datamodels, Pearson Correlation analysis, Fixed Effect regression, Random Effect regression, Logarithmic transformation,the Hausman test, and ANCOVA, the study identifies significant connections between corruption control, ICT exports, andinternet usage. Findings underscore the transformative role of ICT in raising average income per capita, driving economicgrowth, and enhancing governance through improved corruption control.By investing in ICT infrastructure and promoting digital inclusion, countries can unlock substantial economic and socialbenefits.
