Abstract

This article examines words expressing diminutive and endearing meanings in the Uzbek language through lexical analysis. It analyzes the formation methods of diminutive and affectionate words, their semantic features, and emotional-aesthetic functions in speech. Additionally, the role of these words in oral communication and their significance as expressive devices in folklore are explored. The analysis reveals their formation using affixes, contextual shifts in semantic load, and emotional and sociolinguistic functions through examples. This study aims to determine the position of diminutive and affectionate words as a lexical resource in modern Uzbek language.
