THE EFFECTIVENESS OF STORYTELLING IN DEVELOPING FOREIGN LANGUAGE SKILLS AMONG LEARNERS

Storytelling is an effective teaching approach that helps many learners develop foreign language skills by creating meaningful and engaging learning experiences. Previous researches have shown that storytelling enhances learners’ speaking ability, critical thinking, vocabulary acquisition, and communication confidence. This study uses a mixed-method approach, which includes questionnaires, classroom observations, and learner feedback, to examine the effectiveness of storytelling. The findings indicate that storytelling significantly improves learners’ oral performance, critical thinking, language confidence, and classroom engagement. Also, the study suggests that integrating storytelling into foreign language instruction can effectively promote the development of language skills across different foreign language learning contexts.
