The Study of Youth Speech in Russian Linguistics

Аннотация
This article analyzes scholarly approaches to the study of youth speech in Russian linguistics. The research examines the history of the formation of youth speech and its terminological interpretation, particularly the linguistic description of the concepts of slang, jargon, and the language of youth subcultures. In addition, the study considers how Russian linguists have investigated youth slang and jargon from structural-semantic, sociolinguistic, communicative, and linguocultural perspectives. The article also analyzes the influence of Internet communication and the digital environment on youth speech, as well as its regional variability and the main features of contemporary research. The findings demonstrate that the study of youth speech in Russian linguistics has evolved from lexical description to the interpretation of youth speech as a complex sociolinguistic and linguocultural phenomenon. The conclusion substantiates that youth speech is one of the most dynamically developing layers of modern language and an important communicative phenomenon reflecting the social variability of language.
