Abstract
This article examines the concept of "man", which holds axiological significance for the writer. It highlights the manifestation of the protagonist's consciousness, his actions, and his relationships with other people. The article also emphasizes a specific feature of the nominative field of the "man" concept: the division of all characters into two groups, their influence on the protagonist's personality, and the transformation of his attitude toward them.
