МORPHOLOGICAL CHANGES OF THE THYROID AND PANCREATES IN EXPERIMENTAL HYPOTHYROISIS

Purpose: To determine the nature of morphological changes in the pancreas of rats with experimental hypothyroidism. Methods: Organs and tissues of 14 laboratory white rats served as material. Sexually mature white rats with the development of hypothyroidism were injected with Mercazolil intravenously at 2.5 ml/100 g of animal body weight for 3 weeks. The study used morphological, morphometric, histological, biochemical and immunological, statistical research methods. Results: Against the background of experimental hypothyroidism, when we administer the drug Mercozalil to laboratory white rats, along with dystrophic changes in the structure of the pancreas, it compensates for almost all the studied components of the pancreas: blood vessels, secretory (exocrine and endocrine) cells, as well as nerve fibers - adaptive and destructive changes. Microscopic examination of the exocrine part of the pancreas revealed changes in the nucleus and cytoplasm in some of the azinocytes. The nuclear membrane of such cells has uneven contours, as a result of which the nucleus has an angular shape.
