MORPHOLOGICAL SIGNS OF ALCOHOLIC CARDIOMYOPATHY

Abstract

The article is devoted to the morphological features of alcoholic cardiomyopathy. The results of the study show that in alcoholic cardiomyopathy, cardiomyocyte hypertrophy and fibrosis of the interstitial tissue are not very pronounced, the subepicardial region is clearly covered with adipose tissue, macroscopically, the heart tissue is yellowish in color. Histologically, vacuolar and small vacuolar dystrophy of cardiomyocytes are revealed, the interstitium is covered with adipose tissue, relative hypertrophy of muscle fibers, accumulation of lipofuscin in the sarcoplasm of cardiomyocytes.
