Abstract
In Payr's syndrome, due to the high location of the splenic angle of the colon, the splenic flexure becomes sharpened, which leads to disruption of the passage of intestinal contents through this part of the intestine. Over time, the adducting sections of the colon, ascending and transverse colon increase in volume, resulting in reflux ileitis in the large intestine. According to the literature, pain syndrome often occurs between the ages of 15 and 17 years and accounts for 10-17% of cases.
