Breastfeeding is the foundation of children's health and has numerous benefits for the health of mother and child. Increasing the prevalence and duration of breastfeeding is one of the priorities of the pediatric community, supported at the state level. The active promotion of mixtures for the organization of artificial feeding undoubtedly has a negative impact on the prevalence of breastfeeding. In addition, the article analyzes modern recommendations related to the effect of complementary foods and the timing of their introduction on the child's health.
