The purpose of the study is to determine the nature and morphological features of head injuries caused by pedestrian collisions with moving cars. Research materials: the forensic examination of the bodies of 140 children who died in collisions with moving cars and the results of forensic examination of 302 pedestrians - children who suffered various degrees of injuries as a result of collisions with moving cars were analyzed. Results of the study: head injuries of pedestrians and children killed in traffic accidents are often (74%) accompanied by severe contusion and fractures of the frontal, temporal and facial bones. In pedestrians with moving cars - in cases where children do not die as a result of a collision - the damage to the structure of the head is most often (60.8%) manifested as a concussion, and relatively less - mainly frontal and temporal skulls, as well as facial bones. it is accompanied by fractures and brain contusions of various degrees (13.3%). Conclusion: the nature and localization of injuries to the head structures of pedestrians - children indicate that they are formed as a result of the inertial fall of children on the road surface (the 3rd stage of the accident).
