GENDER-SPECIFIC CLINICAL MANIFESTATIONS OF OBESITY IN ADOLESCENTS

Abstract
The prevalence of obesity among adolescents in Izhevsk was 8.8% with the same frequency in boys and girls. The manifestation of obesity in every third child occurred at an early age, in every second at preschool age, the progression of the disease in 52% began during puberty. Gender differences were established in the degree and progression of the disease: boys were significantly more likely to have a more severe degree of obesity, a rapidly progressive course, transitional and complicated phases of obesity, abdominal visceral type of fat deposition, increased appetite, emotional excitability, increased blood pressure.
