Abstract
The study is devoted to the pathomorphological changes in the fornical apparatus and adjacent structures in urolithiasis. Analysis of 72 patients showed that prolonged urinary tract obstruction leads to vessel wall thickening (18.4%, p <0.05), parenchymal sclerosis (up to 22.1 ± 4.3%, p <0.001), and fibrosis development (in 75% of cases). Fornical reflux is associated with an increased risk of interstitial inflammation (62.5% of cases, p<0.05). The obtained data emphasize the importance of the fornical apparatus in the pathogenesis of ICD and the need for further research to optimize treatment.
