Introduction: X-ray imaging is one of the essential non-invasive diagnostic methods in modern medicine. It enables fast and effective visualization of internal structures, which is crucial in emergencies, oncology, and inflammatory conditions. Its significance extends to education and research. Methods: A literature review was conducted based on works by Uzbek scholars and textbooks, focusing on the role of radiology in diagnostics, emergency medicine, and education. The mechanisms of X-ray imaging, its application in clinical settings, and radiation safety protocols were analyzed. Results: X-ray imaging is effective in detecting fractures, tumors, and infections, and in monitoring treatment outcomes. It provides quick results and is widely accessible. However, due to ionizing radiation, its use must be justified and protective measures must be employed. In medical education, X-rays aid in learning anatomy and clinical interpretation. Discussion: Despite the availability of other modalities (ultrasound, CT, MRI), X-ray remains popular due to its speed, cost-effectiveness, and utility. Rational use is necessary to balance benefits and risks. Integration of new technologies can improve precision and safety. Its role in education and scientific research makes X-ray imaging an irreplaceable tool in medicine.
