Аннотатсия
This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the concept of emotional-volitional deficit (EVD) as a core pathogenetic mechanism of schizophrenia. The author substantiates-on both theoretical and practical grounds-the natural essence of EVD, its clinical forms, severity levels, and dynamics. Schizophrenia is interpreted as an adaptive condition that strives to preserve internal equilibrium by transitioning to a lower energy level of functioning. The paper highlights how EVD deepens as a progressive process, its interrelationship with cognitive impairments, and its functional consequences. It also critiques the absence of a severity classification for EVD in ICD-10 and argues for introducing such clinical criteria into Medical and Social Expertise (MSE) and forensic-psychiatric practice.
