ETIOPATHOGENETIC SIGNIFICANCE OF MAO-B INHIBITORS IN PARKINSON’S DISEASE AND THEIR ROLE IN REDUCING MOTOR SYMPTOMS
ХАКИМОВА Сахиба Зиядуллоевна, ГАФФАРОВА Парвина Абдурафиковна
Annotaciya
MAO-B inhibitors increase synaptic dopamine levels by slowing dopamine metabolism, reduce oxidative stress, and exert neuroprotective effects. When used as monotherapy in the early stages of Parkinson’s disease and in combination with levodopa at later stages, they significantly reduce motor symptoms such as bradykinesia, rigidity, and tremor, and are considered pathogenetic therapeutic agents with the potential to slow disease progression.
