Abstract
Mandibular fractures are among the most common injuries in maxillofacial trauma and are frequently complicated by infectious and inflammatory processes. Despite advancements in surgical treatment techniques and antimicrobial therapy, the incidence of infectious complications, including osteomyelitis, remains high. This article presents an analysis of risk factors, mechanisms, and clinical features of infection-related complications in mandibular fractures. Particular attention is paid to microbial contamination, timing of surgical intervention, dental status, and general somatic conditions. The article summarizes the importance of accurate diagnostics, timely surgical management, and comprehensive prevention strategies in minimizing complications.
