Abstract

The article reveals a number of problems in the sale of book products in the 1950-1970s, indicates measures aimed at meeting the needs of readers and increasing interest in reading. In general, this period can be characterized as a time of active formation of a centralized book publishing system, where the authorities strictly regulated the activities of the printing industry, regulating each stage of the editorial and publishing activity.
