In this article, the psychological characteristics of the development of creative abilities of elementary school students, the relevance of developing children’s creative activity from elementary school age in today’s society, the psychological possibilities and importance of teaching creative activities of elementary school students, modern education on the basis of the approaches, the effectiveness of organizing students’ creative abilities is described. Also, the problems of finding content of other psychological characteristics and volitional qualities of elementary school students and their influence on the formation of motivation were discussed.
