in this article, psychological problems in sports activities, mental functions of a person, the general purpose of psychological training, the search for ways to cultivate sports talents, mental characteristics of a person, general psychological training, special psychological training, psychological exercises, psychological influence , self-awareness, self-education and selfimprovement, especially the characteristics of the will in the preparation of athletes for competition are considered and the opinions of scientists are analyzed.
