This article discusses that by increasing the vocabulary of primary school students, the ability of acquiring knowledge will be expanded, speech will be expressive and they will not have difficulties in delivering their independent opinion. It also discusses how much importance should be given to the formation of the child’s speech competence in the classes “Mother language and reading literacy” classes. The issues of forming the ability of teachers to use the necessary educational tools, especially by establishing the methodology of working with the dictionary during the lesson, the student’s discovery of the meaning of unfamiliar and terminological words, and using the words as an active word source will be considered.
