Language skills play an important role in the education and professional development of architecture and construction students, enabling them to communicate, understand and express themselves effectively within their field. This article examines the importance of developing lexical language skills through the use of authentic materials among students in architecture and construction programs. Authentic materials from authentic real-life contexts provide students with the relevant vocabulary and terms they need for academic and professional success. The article discusses strategies for integrating original materials into language teaching curricula and emphasizes their potential to increase student comprehension, retention, and application of specialized vocabulary in architecture and construction.
