Abstract
This article focuses on real compound exercises, as they alone are unique enough to constitute a dedicated research topic. In this regard, scientific and practical recommendations have been made, taking into account the trends of world scientific development, to improve the working mechanisms of English language teaching and foreign language professional competence formation in higher education institutions.
