Abstract
When studying various phenomena, we usually deal with a set of variables that are related to each other, so that the values of some variables (independent variables) coincide with the values of other variables (dependent variables). variables or functions.» For example, the dimensions of the sides of a triangle completely determine its area, and when the radius of a circle changes, its area also changes. When the speed of an object changes, the path it travels over a certain time interval changes, when the resistance of the conductor changes, the current in the circuit changes (the law of inductance), a certain volume of a given gas at a given temperature is determined by its pressure. Phrases like these serve as the source of the concept of function. There will be dependences not only on one, but also on several quantities. For example, the area of a rectangle depends on two dimensions (length and width), and the volume of a parallelepiped depends on three dimensions (length, width, height). Such relationships lead to the concept of a function of several variables. The concept of a variable quantity (function) is one of the central concepts of mathematical analysis. The concept of a function is one of the basic concepts of mathematics, arising from the relationship between two (usually several) variables. The article provides information on the methodology of teaching the subject “Functions and their graphs” to students in the pedagogical field.
