BLOCKCHAIN IN THE DIGITAL ECONOMY: POTENTIAL FOR INCREASING TRANSPARENCY AND TRUST

Blockchain technology is becoming a key element of digital transformation, promoting transparency and trust in the digital economy. This article discusses the key benefits of blockchain, such as ensuring data transparency, reducing transaction costs, and automating business processes. It analyzes the impact of blockchain solutions on various areas, including financial transactions, supply chains, and public administration. Examples of successful blockchain applications in logistics, cryptocurrencies, decentralized finance, as well as in ensuring transparency in elections and public registries are given. However, despite its many advantages, blockchain faces a number of limitations, such as high implementation costs, scalability issues, and energy costs, as well as legal and regulatory barriers. The article also examines the differences between blockchain solutions and traditional centralized systems, analyzing where blockchain is superior to existing technologies and where they are still more effective.
