CHARACTERISTICS OF MOTION-DENOTING PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS IN THE TEXT OF “KHAMSA”

This article provides a semantic analysis of motion-denoting phraseological units used in the epics of “Khamsa”. Particular attention is paid to the role of such phraseological units in generating connotative meaning, their degree of imagery, and their significance in ensuring the dynamism of the literary text. The arguments are substantiated with examples drawn from the epics, revealing Navoi’s mastery in the use of words.
