Abstract
Folklore has long been recognized as one of the primary sources of literary creativity. However, its role as a mechanism for preserving intangible cultural heritage in contemporary Karakalpak prose has not been sufficiently explored. To address this gap, this study examines the transformation and stylization of folklore images in the novels Letters to My Grandfather by T. Qayipbergenov, Aq Tuba in Jaman Shig'anaq (Sharp Turn) by Sh. Seytov, and Terbenbes by Q.Matmuratov. The analysis focuses on their functions in preserving cultural memory, strengthening national identity, and ensuring cultural sustainability within Karakalpak novels of the independence period.
