Abstract

This article examines the role of metaphor within cognitive linguistics as a crucial mechanism for shaping thought and the linguistic worldview. Particular attention is paid to conceptual metaphor and its influence on the semantics of language and the process of cognition. Key theoretical approaches are analyzed, and aspects of the functioning of metaphor in language, thought, and culture are expanded. The relevance of this study stems from the need for a comprehensive study of linguistic processes within the context of cognitive science.
