Халилова, Халимахон
Abstract
The article is devoted to a comprehensive linguistic and onomastic analysis of the toponyms of Sergeli District in Tashkent city, with a special focus on the microtoponymy of the “Choshtepa” (Chashtepa) array. The etymology, structural features, semantic and cultural-historical aspects of geographical names are examined. Based on field materials, archaeological data, and existing studies, Turkic, Irano-Turkic, and local layers in the toponymic system of the district are identified. Particular attention is paid to the component “tepa” (hill, elevation), which reflects the relief and historical significance of the territory as an ancient settlement. The analysis contributes to the understanding of nomination processes in Uzbek onomastics and the preservation of cultural heritage
