THE HARMONY OF WORD AND MELODY IN MAKHTUMKULI’S POETRY

Abstract
This article provides a comprehensive analysis of one of the distinctive features of Magtymguly’s poetry—the harmony of word and melody—as well as the aspects of the song genre related to Turkmen national ethnography. It also reveals that Magtymguly was the first in Turkmen literature to introduce the concept of “righteous living”, according to which a person should be free, speak the truth, and be responsible for their actions.
