Abstract
The Chinese hieroglyph 把 “ba” is considered one of the lexically complex, widely used, flexible, and highly active units in the language. This article analyzes the polysemy of this hieroglyph and its use in various grammatical functions, substantiating the necessity of studying it as a polyfunctional unit.
