Annotatsiya
The article provides a scientific analysis of the traditional farming culture of the Karakalpak people in the 19th and early 20th centuries, the internal structure of irrigation networks, and the ethnographic features of water use. Based on archival and ethnographic materials, the study examined hydraulic structures in the lower reaches of the Amu Darya, water-lifting devices (chigirs), and public rules for the equal distribution of water (“seasonal water”, “alternately”).
