MODERNIZATION OF THE POSTAL COMMUNICATION SYSTEM IN KHOREZM REGION AND ITS SOCIO-ECONOMIC SIGNIFICANCE (1970–1975)

This article analyzes the modernization processes of the postal communication system in the Khorezm region during 1970–1975 and examines their socio-economic significance on the basis of archival sources. The study highlights the establishment of new communication offices, mechanization of postal services, provision of transport facilities, development of telephone networks, distribution of printed media, and measures aimed at improving the quality of services provided to the population. Particular attention is paid to strengthening the material and technical base of communication enterprises, improving personnel qualifications, and expanding communication services in rural areas. The research concludes that the modernization measures implemented during this period played an important role in the economic development of the region, the dissemination of information, and the improvement of social infrastructure.
