Abstract
This article provides a scientific analysis of the plot structure and the central component the travel motif in the “Gorogly” cycle of Uzbek folk heroic epics. The study reveals the significance of the travel motif not only as a dynamic tool facilitating the hero's movement but also as a process of initiation (maturation) and spiritual development. Through comparative-historical and structural analysis methods, the system of obstacles, auxiliary figures, and the ideological conclusion of the journey in the epics are systematized. The article concludes that the travel motif is a vital element that ensures the integrity of the epic and represents the national ideal.
