LEXICAL AND SEMANTIC CORRESPONDENCE OF BEHAVIORAL VERBS IN ENGLISH–UZBEK LEXICOGRAPHIC SOURCES

Abstract
This article investigates the lexical and semantic correspondence of behavioral verbs in English–Uzbek lexicographic sources. Behavioral verbs constitute an important lexical group reflecting human social, psychological, and moral actions[1]. The study analyzes the equivalence of selected behavioral verbs in bilingual dictionaries and examines the degree to which their semantic components are preserved in translation. The findings reveal that while many behavioral verbs have direct lexical correspondences, differences in cultural, pragmatic, and evaluative meanings often lead to partial semantic mismatches.
