THE TRANSFORMATION OF FOLK TALES IN MODERN CHILDREN’S LITERATURE

Annotatsiya
The article examines the main directions of the transformation of the folk tale in modern children’s literature. It considers changes in the fairy-tale canon, plot structure, character system, and functions of the tale. Special attention is paid to the interaction of the folk tale with the literary fairy tale and fantasy. It is established that modern children’s literature preserves the folkloric basis of the tale while simultaneously adapting it to new cultural and aesthetic conditions.
