THE PUBLIC EDUCATION SYSTEM IN SURKHANDARYA REGION: CONDITIONS, PROBLEMS AND THE PATH OF DEDICATED TEACHERS (1970–1980s)

This article analyzes the state of the public education system in the Surkhandarya region during the 1970s and 1980s based on archival documents. The author reveals the material and technical deficiencies and quality issues in preschool and general education institutions amidst the high demographic growth rates of the Soviet era. Furthermore, the article highlights the activities of dedicated educators who contributed to the advancement of the education sector in districts such as Shurchi, Sherabad, and Jarkurgan.
