Abstract

Picture describing and storytelling are valuable techniques in foreign language teaching since they facilitate learners’ to communicate in meaningful contexts. This article explores how these activities contribute to the development of speaking, writing, vocabulary, and communicative competence as well as it draws on theories of communicative language teaching, task-based language teaching, and cognitive learning, together with findings from previous empirical studies.
