Annotaciya

The article reconstructs the state of medical assistance to the population of the Surkhan Valley in the first quarter of the 20th century. The study is organised along three lines: traditional medical practice (tabibs, doyas, sinchilar, folbins) as the dominant system of care; departmental and charitable medical institutions in the zone of Russian military-administrative presence (1893–1917).
