Аннотатсия

The article analyzes the historical-geographical, demographic and socio-economic conditions of the Surkhandarya region in 1930–1991 as the territorial context of the research. The special location of the region on the southern border, natural-geographical conditions including mountainous and plain zones, hot climate, as well as changes in the ethno-demographic composition of the population are examined. The economic structure based on agriculture, particularly cotton growing and animal husbandry, and the level of infrastructure development are highlighted.
