State policy in the religious sphere in the Republic of Uzbekistan is based on such fundamental principles as legality, freedom of conscience, separation of religion from the state, equality, free choice, interfaith dialogue and mutual understanding. In turn, on the basis of the principle of “interfaith dialogue and mutual understanding ”, citizens of different faiths or those who do not profess any religion, as well as organizations of different faiths establish a dialogue with each other on the basis of religious tolerance, compromise, respect and mutual understanding.
