THE ESSENCE OF COMPOUNDS IN ENGLISH AND THE PROBLEM OF THEIR CLASSIFICATION

Abstract
This article examines the linguistic nature of English compound words and analyzes their structural, semantic, and functional classification. The study is conducted according to the IMRAD model, focusing on morphological formation, semantic integrity, and stress patterns of compound words. The findings demonstrate that English compounds can be classified based on graphic form, structural model, and semantic headship. In addition, the specific features of endocentric and exocentric compounds are clarified.
