THE THEORETICAL AND PARADIGMATIC FORMATION OF CYBER ETHNOLOGY: HISTORIOGRAPHY OF 1990–2005

Аннотация
This study analyzes the theoretical and paradigmatic formation of digital technologies, the Internet, and virtual environments within the humanities and social sciences from 1990 to 2005. Grounded in postmodern and poststructuralist theories, the paper examines the reinterpretation of the boundaries between human, body, and technology, specifically the emergence of new scientific categories such as “cyberspace”, “virtual identity”, and “technological embodiment”. The evolution of the concept of “virtual community” amid the development of the World Wide Web (WWW) is explored, alongside the foundational insights of pioneering scholars like M. Featherstone, R. Burrows, H. Rheingold, and C. Hine in establishing cyberethnography and digital anthropology methodologies. The study concludes with scientific insights into the legitimization of virtual space as an independent social reality, which laid the groundwork for subsequent empirical research.
