THE APPROACH OF IMAM MATURIDI IN UNDERSTANDING THE ELOQUENCE OF THE HOLY QUR’AN (ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE INTERPRETATION OF SURAH AL-FATIHA)

This article analyzes the unique eloquence of the Qur’anic verses and Imam Abu Mansur al-Maturidi’s approach to understanding and interpreting them in his work “Ta’wilat al-Qur’an”, using Surah Al-Fatiha as an example. Drawing on the scholar’s commentary, the article explains the difference between ta ’wil and tafsir, and explores the lexical, stylistic, and semantic analysis of the verses. Furthermore, it examines the harmony of linguistics, theology (kalam), and jurisprudence (fiqh) in al-Maturidi’s exegesis, the balance between rational and transmitted evidence, and his interpretative methods in uncovering the eloquence of the Qur ’ante text.
