ECO-TOURISM PILGRIMAGE SITES ASSOCIATED WITH SPRINGS IN THE SURKHAN OASIS
ДЖУРАЕВА, Санабар
Abstract
This article elucidates the historical formation of sacred pilgrimage sites in the Surkhan oasis and their intrinsic connection to the lives of prominent scholars who contributed to the advancement of science, Islamic theology, craftsmanship, medicine, and the harmonization of nature and society. The study examines the veneration of interred figures and the subsequent sacralization of these locations. Furthermore, the paper provides a scientific analysis of eco-tourism potential, the historiography of pilgrimage objects bearing the title «Khoja» that are associated with springs, and significant socio-cultural aspects, including the practice of visiting these sites for both spiritual observance and therapeutic purposes.
