THE ISLAMIC MODEL OF FIGHTING CRIME

Abstract
In the article, the author aims to reveal the features of the fight against crime in the Islamic Sharia (law). In particular, it provides an analytical description of the concepts of crime and punishment in accordance with Sharia, types of crimes and punishments proportional to them, to "had" as a special type of punishment, compensation for murder and bodily injury of a person, and also examines issues related to the institutions of testimony and judging in Islam, and requirements to the witnesses and judges. The author emphasizes that the Islamic model of combating crime is a national-historical model that operated on the territory of Central Asia during the VIII-XIX centuries.
