Аннотация
This article examines the history of the establishment of irrigation networks in the Khiva Khanate during the 18th and 19th centuries, focusing specifically on the construction stages of the Shahobod canal—one of the largest hydraulic engineering structures—and its role in the khanate's economy. Archival documents, written sources, and historical-geographical data were utilized to analyze the subject. Furthermore, the study highlights the reclamation of new lands resulting from the construction of the canal, the development of agricultural culture, and the policy of the central government in managing the irrigation system.
