Abstract
The article explores the life, spiritual lineage, and profound legacy of Bahauddin Naqshband, the founder of the Naqshbandiya Sufi order and the seventh pir of Bukhara. It delves into his birth in Qasri Hinduvon (later Qasri Orifon), his early spiritual training under Muhammad Boboi Samosi, Amir Kulol, and Abdulkholiq Gijduvani, as well as his unique 'Uvaysi' connection. The article examines the core principles of the Naqshbandiya tariqa, including the eleven foundational rules (rashhas) that combine the teachings of Khojagon with the new principles of 'Vuqufi zamon' (awareness of time), 'Vuqufi adad' (awareness of number), and 'Vuqufi qalb' (awareness of the heart). It highlights the slogan 'Dast ba kor, dil ba yor' (Hand in work, heart with the Lord) and discusses the importance of the 'Avrod' (litany) and 'qudsiy' (holy words) as part of his spiritual heritage. The article also covers his travels, meetings with other spiritual figures, and the global spread of the Naqshbandiya order, emphasizing his role in promoting hard work, humanism, and spiritual perfection, which remains a source of guidance for perfecting human character.
