The article examines the legal basis for ensuring the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of citizens in the implementation of operational investigative activities. The article also highlights the issues of ensuring the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of citizens during operational search activities, the requirements established in international documents and legislation regulating this process, their observance, existing problems in ensuring human rights, freedoms and legitimate interests and ways to eliminate them, the conditions for conducting video surveillance, departmental control over operational investigative activities and increasing the legal culture of citizen.
