GENRE NOVEL IN CHINESE LITERATURE OF THE 20TH CENTURY: DEVELOPMENT, THEMES AND INFLUENCE

Abstract
In the 20th century, Chinese literature experienced significant changes and transformations, and the novel genre became one of the most prominent and influential in this period. The Chinese novel of the 20th century reflects complex political, social and cultural changes, as well as the major themes and issues facing Chinese society. In this article we will look at the development of the novel genre in Chinese literature of the 20th century, its themes and influence on the literary and cultural development of China. The principles of the development of the novel genre in modern Chinese literature are covered in a chronological order in this article, and the novel "Life" written by Yu Hua, a prominent representative of Chinese literature, is analyzed.
